@Sargakshetra

Recently, I had the incredible opportunity to intern at Sargakshetra 89.6 FM for a fifteen-day internship program along with three of my friends. The internship started with a three-day RJ-VJ training session which helped us understand the basic structure and functioning of an FM Station. In the following days, we learned how shows are planned, scripted, recorded and broadcasted under the guidance of the radio jockeys. We had the opportunity to take part in a program called ‘Frequenz Tree’ Season 3 organized in connection with World Environment Day. As part of the program, we had the chance to visit schools and take part in various activities like the distribution of saplings to the students of 1st standard. We even had the opportunity to do a show with the RJs, during which, the main focus was on scriptwriting and voice recording. We also learned the importance of tone, pacing, clarity and modulation in audio communication, which helped us improve our confidence in front of the mic. One of the most memorable parts of the internship was the shooting of a dance reel. We had a whole day to prepare the script, practice the dance and then shoot the video. Overall, this internship was both fun and educational, especially with the warm support from the team and the other staff. It also gave us an insight into the role of community media and the power of voice in reaching and influencing listeners. In conclusion, my internship at Sargakshetra 89.6 FM was a highly informative and inspiring experience. It gave us a strong foundation in radio broadcasting and boosted our self-confidence.
