Tiny Fingers, Heavy Lessons.

If there was one thing that Rahel, the tiny-little five-year-old, who inhabited a tiny-little cottage along the southern coast of Meenachil river, hoped for with all the might in her tiny-little childish brain, it was to be the possessor of a bejeweled ring — a circlet of sparkling gems, set on a polished band, to adorn her tiny-little ring finger!
Ah, they say desire is the root cause of all evil! It certainly is, at least for enterprising toddlers like Rahel.
As a jubilant Rahel walked towards the auto-rickshaw which came to pick her up that day from the Kindergarten — after consoling her first and only best friend in the whole world, Teresa, on the loss of her brand new blue-and-white-stoned ring which had disappeared under mysterious circumstances — she thought the only way to “own” was by “taking away.
”Ah, it took her quite a few years to understand “letting go makes it yours forever…
