On 8th August 2025, the Post Graduate Department of English proudly hosted the inauguration of the English Association for the academic year 2025–’26. The event was organized under the able coordination of Dr. Dona Elizabeth Sam and Dr. Nithya Mariam.
The occasion was graced by distinguished guests Dr. Adoney T. John and Ms. Sreeparvathy. Ms. Sreeparvathy officially inaugurated the English Association—THANMAYA—marking the beginning of a new academic year filled with literary exploration and creative initiatives. She also launched the department’s official blog, LitScrolls, which will serve as a platform for student expression, reviews, and academic discussions.
The inaugural ceremony was followed by a thought-provoking panel discussion led by the esteemed guests on the topic “Thrillers: Cinema and Writing.” The session delved into the intricacies of thriller narratives, examining the interplay between literary and cinematic techniques. The engaging discussion was further enriched by an interactive session, where students posed a series of insightful and thrilling questions, making the event a lively and intellectually stimulating experience.
